NOTE: The “No Child Left Behind Law” says that any aide (assistant) who holds a position in a Title I school must hold an
Associate Degree or pass a rigorous assessment test to be administered by the District. It also states that aides (assistants) hired after January 8, 2002
must meet these requirements. The District plans to meet this requirement through the Paraprofessional Institute which will be held on various dates at the
Region VII Service Center in Kilgore, Texas. Paraprofessionals recommended, who do not have the necessary requirements, will be required to attend the
Institute.
