If you are new to the teaching profession, you are required to provide an Official Transcript showing all coursework and verifying degrees from any college attended to Tyler ISD before starting employment.
If you are currently retired from the teaching profession and receive benefits from TRS and you are re-hired by Tyler ISD, your salary will be based on the state minimum or 80% of the salary (whichever is higher) as outlined by TISD guidelines found on page 17 of the Employee Handbook.
Previous Teaching Experience
If you have previous teaching experience and are hired by Tyler ISD, you will be expected to provide the following information before starting employment:
- Official Transcript showing all coursework and verifying degrees from any college attended.
- Original Service Records (signed by official from previous school district)
- Signed copy of Verification of NCLB Status from previous district.
Please note that if you hold an out-of-state certification and do not have a Texas certification, you must first contact the Texas State Board for Educator Certification.
You cannot complete the hiring process by Tyler ISD until SBEC has reviewed your transcripts and out-of-state certification and issued you a Texas Certificate.
