| Board Meetings & Workshops | ||
| The Board of Trustees participates in a variety of meetings. Each of these meetings, with the exception of closed sessions, is open to the public, but is not a meeting of the public. The purpose of the meetings is to conduct school district business and to provide the members of the board an opportunity to discuss issues with each other and with staff.
Regular Meetings are traditionally held on the third Thursday of each month (unless otherwise posted) at the Dr. Jack L. Davidson Conference Center located in the Plyler Instructional Complex, 807 W. Glenwood, Tyler, Texas.
Members of the community are invited to address the Board of Trustees during the public comment period at regularly scheduled Board meetings. Click here to view the board policy regarding public participation.
Regular school board meetings air live on TISD TV the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings re-air every Monday at 8:00 p.m., every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. and every Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Board Workshops are meetings held between Board members and staff to conduct additional business and for in-depth study of programs and issues. Typically, the first or second Monday of the month is reserved for Board workshops.
When necessary, the Board may schedule other public meetings (special meetings or emergency meetings). Advance notices of all meetings are distributed to the news media and are posted at the Administration Building and www.tylerisd.org.
