State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR)
ImageSTAAR Replaced TAKS in 2011-2012
The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) starting in the 2011-2012 school year. STAAR includes more difficult testing and requires a higher level of student performance. STAAR is designed to measure a student’s college and career readiness, starting in elementary school.

STAAR Resources for Parents
The information below includes resources for parents to learn more about the STAAR assessments and guides to understanding your child's test results.

The information below includes a guide for parents to help understand your child's test results. To log in and view your child's assessment results online, enter the six-character Unique Access Code and the student's Date of Birth. The Unique Access Code is a combination of numbers and capital letters. The access code is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as it appears on the most recent Confidential Student Report. For more information about your assessment results or if you do not have a Unique Access Code, contact your child's school.
The link below contains various videos that include sample test questions as well as tips & strategies for the STAAR tests.  The videos were created by North East ISD and are posted with their permission.
