December 2014 -  Lindsey Lott, Woods Elementary School

Lindsey Lott inspires students to begin with the end in mind and to set academic goals. Her students are proactive and take responsibility of their academics and behavior, setting a great example for other students at Andy Woods.  As the third grade team leader, Ms. Lott works with her team to ensure that the needs of all students are met.

November 2014 -  April Caldwell, John Tyler High School

Ms. Caldwell teaches AVID 3 & 4 and Debate. She is also the Senior Class Co-sponsor, Academic UIL Coordinator and lead sponsor for all clubs/organizations. Ms. Caldwell successfully orchestrated the first “club rush” on campus which resulted in creating over 39 new clubs and/organizations. Caldwell’s debate class hosted a tournament on campus, with over 19 schools competing, resulting in a first place finish by a JT student. Additionally these same students, under her direction, attended UT Tyler where Justice Clarence Thomas spoke and they were mentioned in his final speech for having asked thought provoking questions. As Academic UIL Coordinator, Ms. Caldwell has recruited coaches for all academic areas and provided them support in order to build teams that will be competitive. Finally, she has successfully had all of her AVID 4 students sign up for either the ACT or SAT and has gathered resources for the students to study and do their best while also supervising their applications for prestigious scholarships. Ms. Caldwell exemplifies our “ALL IN” motto.

October 2014 -  Andy Haas, Clarkston Elementary School

Andy Haas came to Clarkston from John Tyler where he was teaching Algebra 2. He is originally from Wisconsin where he taught elementary school - his passion. In the first 6 weeks, Mr. Haas has taken huge steps out of that secondary comfort zone in implementing the Math Workstation model in his 5th grade math classes, where his students are thriving. We have had extremely positive feedback from parents, students and other staff members about Andy’s level of commitment to student learning and success.

September 2014 -  Emily Tannery, Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School

Emily Tannery began as a student teacher at Jack and is currently in her third year as a first grade teacher. She has been an asset to Jack Elementary in many ways. She is flexible, kind and sees the potential in all of her studentsShe takes initiative to grow as a professional by researching specific needs for students. We are pleased and proud to have her leadership on our campus.
