Accelerated Math
Moore is one of the only schools in Tyler ISD that offers an accelerated math pathway and the only school that offers high school Geometry to 8th graders in Tyler ISD.
To explain this, we will break it down as simply as possible because it can get confusing.
Things to Know
Any Student Can Be in Accelerated Math
Based on STAAR Math Scores
All Students Receive 1.5 Hours of Math Class
That's twice as much per day as a regular middle school.
All Grades Offer Honors and On-Level Math
We are an advanced school, and we offer advanced course options.
The Maximum Accelerated Path
If your child plans to do the complete accelerated math program, it is crucial that you both are prepared for academic rigor.
The students who take this path want to be future engineers and architects looking for in-depth mathematics knowledge.
6th Grade
Covers 6th and 7th grade math plus some 8th grade pre-Algebra.
7th Grade
Take Pre-AP Algebra for high school credit.
8th Grade

High School
Your child would take AP Calculus AB as a junior and AP Calculus BC as a senior.

Student Life
Our students love the essence and culture of Moore. We have high expectations, and so do they.
What stands out and separates our school from all the rest is how you get the academic achievement of a technology institute while your child still receives the complete middle school experience with band, fine arts, and sports.
They can even explore their interests and find their place through our many clubs and organizations.
We would love to have you here at Moore Middle School.
