About Our School
POSITIVELY IMPACTING THE WORLD
At Rice, our staff is dedicated and works hard to provide a school experience that will help each child meet their full potential. Our mission is to grow leaders while teaching them to positively impact the world. We understand the importance of the home-school connection and value the involvement of our parents in their child’s education.
HISTORICAL TIDBITS
Rice is located on 11.66 acres of land in south Tyler which was donated by Hezekiah Fleetwood Rice, a wealthy farmer and landowner. In its beginnings, Rice was an independent school district serving students in grades one through twelve. In 1956, Rice became a part of the Tyler Independent School District. In 2013, TylerISD Bond passed to renovate our building. We are now finished with construction and are enjoying a beautifully renovated building!
