Holiday and End-of-the-Year Campus Events
Tyler ISD was full of gatherings, celebrations, music and more unique experiences for staff, students and community. Enjoy the stories and images of various events below.
Bell Elementary School: The Jingle Bell Run is a school-wide event and fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network. Students gathered pledges and ran laps, with the donations going to the Children's Miracle Network. The event was a fun family-friendly time with bounce houses, face painting, and food.
Caldwell Arts Academy: The reverse Christmas parade is a holiday event that allowed students to share their talents with the community. Spectators drove around the campus while viewing different groups of children showcasing their holiday spirit.
Clarkston Elementary School: Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity members hosted a Blue Christmas toy giveaway for Clarkston students. Each student who attended the event received a toy and book from the fraternity members.
Douglas Elementary School: 4th and 5th grade students presented, "The Greatest Snowman!" Smiles and applause were in abundance as the costumes wowed the crowd!
Jones Elementary School: Students wowed the crowd at their Fine Arts Showcase! Also, all K-5 classrooms learned about careers during Junior Achievement Day.
Jones Elementary School: Staff got into the Christmas Spirit at their holiday party!
Orr Elementary School: Orr Elementary School students rocked the house with excellent Christmas tunes! Parents enjoyed the musical roar of the cub leaders, led by their ORRmazing music teacher. Songs included Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Let it Snow, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Peete Elementary School: MegaBash for all students that sold at least 12 items in their annual fundraiser. Seventeen students celebrated their generous hearts and hard work for the good of all.
Ramey Elementary School: Ramey Elementary brought in the holiday season Hawaiian style. “A Hula Holiday” featured grades 1-3 singing original musical arrangements, hula dancing with Pu’ili sticks, and samoan fire dances and representation of island instruments. The program also featured the traditional Hawaiian Christmas hit made famous by Bing Crosby titled “Mele Kalikimaka “, the Hawaiian way to say Merry Christmas to you!
Rice Elementary School: Sponsored by the PTA, the Gingerbread Jog had over 300 runners! First through third place awards were given for each grade level, boys and girls. The event had more than 30 Rice staff participate along with great student volunteers from Legacy, Moore, Hubbard, and UT Tyler. Prize Raffles were donated by: Pine Cove, Sky Ranch, Brookshire's, Tyler Athletic & Swim, Bahama Bucks, Times Square, Pink Rose Salon, Hand & Stone, Dicks Sporting Goods, Twelve, Jalapeno Tree, McAlister's, Rachel Ledbetter Photography, and Tara McDonald Personal.
Tyler Legacy High School: Senior Zoe Grace Mazzara was one of the lead dancers in the TJC Nutcracker performance. She trains at TJC Academy of Dance pre-professional program 20+ hours a week and plans to continue professional ballet and dance training in college along with a double major in Biology.
Woods Elementary School: Parents, grandparents, and community members were invited to come in each day to read to classes during Reading Week. Teachers decorated their doors to go along with the reading week theme, “Ride the Reading Train.” This fun week allows for a little extra time to focus on literacy throughout the campus.
Donation to The Hamptons of Tyler
Three Lakes Middle School students donated gifts and Jack Elementary School students made cards for the residents.
Employees at our administration building enjoyed cookies and cocoa.
