Career Day at Jones Elementary School was a huge success! K-2 students had β€œCareer on Wheels” with guests from the City of Tyler and Fusion Radio. Students explored a day in the life of a fireman, animal control worker, emergency medical technician, policeman, transit bus driver, and broadcast crewman. Grades 3-5 students had several guests speakers and presenters including a professor from Tyler Junior College, City of Tyler District Representative, Registered and Traveling Nurse, a boxer from Legion of Boom Boxing Gym, a fireman from the Tyler Fire Department, and entrepreneurs from Paparazzi Accessories, and  Varie Beauty and Nail Salon.

β€œCareer Day aligns with the goals and mission of our campus and the AVID program as we prepare students for secondary education and beyond,” Principal Dr. NaTasha Crain said. β€œWe provide opportunities for students to explore potential careers and research what degree and/or certification is needed to be successful. Career Day provides the real-world application and experience as they explore various interests and careers.”
