Tyler ISD is excited to announce that it has been awarded a generous $10,000 grant from Pilot Company to support early literacy programs at Griffin and Ramey elementary schools. This significant contribution will play a vital role in advancing the district's "OnThreeByThree" strategy, which aims to ensure that all students are reading on a third-grade level by the time they reach the third grade.
The grant from Pilot Company reflects their strong commitment to education and their belief in the power of literacy to transform lives. Through this partnership, Tyler ISD will be able to implement innovative and targeted interventions to help students develop essential reading skills at an early age, setting them on a path to academic success and lifelong learning.
"We are incredibly grateful to Pilot Company for their generous support of our early literacy initiatives," said Cassandra Chapa, Tyler ISD Chief of School Leadership. "This grant will enable us to enhance our efforts in promoting literacy among our students, ensuring that they acquire the fundamental skills necessary for their educational journey."
The funds from the grant will be utilized to provide specialized reading materials, access to engaging literacy programs, and interactive learning stations. These library resources will further enhance the supportive and enriching learning environment in each classroom.
Furthermore, each campus will create a space to enhance parent-caregiver workshops to provide resources and strategies for incorporating reading into their daily routines at home. It will provide a welcoming and engaging environment that promotes exploration, curiosity, and a love for learning, ultimately supporting early literacy development.
Tyler ISD's "OnThreeByThree" strategy is a comprehensive approach that seeks to address the critical milestone of third-grade literacy. Research has shown that students who are proficient readers by third grade are more likely to succeed academically and graduate high school, setting the stage for future accomplishments.
