Staff and students enthusiastically participated in the Jones Elementary School Vocabulary Parade. The event kicked off the campus Fall Festival and is a creative and engaging activity supporting Jones and Tyler ISD Literacy Goals. During this event, students chose a vocabulary word, dressed up as their selected word, and created a sign showcasing their choice and definition.
Family members were invited to join the fun and take memorable pictures at this Hometown School District learning interactive event. There were so many smiling faces as the children descended the staircases and walked the halls, bringing their chosen vocabulary words to life! Other classmates were spectators, cheering and clapping as the parade moved along.
Jones Elementary School Principal Dr. Natasha Crain helped families ready for the big day by providing a graphic organizer well in advance. This tool is meant to assist families in selecting a vocabulary word and creating an appropriate costume and sign. The event provided a unique opportunity for students to enjoy themselves while expanding their vocabulary and showcasing their creativity. Participants were encouraged to let their imaginations run wild as they represented their chosen words.
