Congratulations to Kevin Oliva, a 1st grade student at Peete Elementary School, for being named the District Elementary Student of the Month for November.
Kevin is committed to his education, working hard to be on the βAβ Honor Roll for the first nine weeks. He recently presented at the school STEM night and was recognized as a Star student.
His teacher, Ms. Basurto, said Kevin is a class leader, stepping up as her line leader and her class assistant. When asked to assist, Kevin is quick to help his struggling classmates with assignments.
Kevin is also a Wildcat Warrior. He won this award for the entire first grade as he represents the Peete motto by doing what's right because it's the right thing to do!
The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.
Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
