The Hubbard Huskies Band and cheerleaders helped to build the excitement for the event as they engaged the crowd awaiting the ceremony.

The event began with a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an official proclamation from the City of Tyler, recognizing the importance of this milestone for the community. Confetti was shot in the air to let attendees, including leadership, board members, staff, students, parents, and community members, know it was time for the doors to open. The crowd filtered through the cheerleaders into the new building, where they could tour the state-of-the-art facilities, engage with faculty and staff, and learn about the educational programs at Hubbard Middle School.

β€œWOW!” β€œThis is awesome!” β€œIt’s so beautiful!” and β€œI can’t wait to go to school here!” are just a few of the things you could hear from excited students running through the doors and quickly making their way to the third floor to overlook the entryway below. One gentleman even stopped to share that the exact spot we were standing in was the football field when he coached at Hubbard 50 years ago.

The new three-story campus is complete with up-to-date safety and security improvements, sitting right next to the old building originally built in 1964. After demolition, the space will be converted into more parking and an eight-lane competition track where the district can hold middle and high school track meets.
