Tyler ISD and CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances celebrated the achievements of nine remarkable individuals from the Class of 2024 Project SEARCH Program at a special ceremony held at the Wisenbaker Conference Center. The event marked a milestone in their lives, highlighting their dedication, perseverance, and readiness for their professional journeys.

Among the distinguished graduates are Gerald Johnson, Kevon Moore, Erick Montoya, Austin Burris, Abbey Grage, Laura Noyola-Aguirre, Jefferson Ylarde, Amanda Martinez, and Jaden Cole. Their completion of internships at CHRISTUS reflects their commitment and remarkable growth and achievement throughout the program.

The Project SEARCH Program, a part of Tyler ISD's commitment to Successful Student Outcomes, empowers students with disabilities by equipping them with essential skills and opportunities for success in the workforce. Students gain invaluable knowledge and skills through integrated work settings, preparing them for future career opportunities.

"Successful Student Outcomes come in so many different ways in Tyler ISD," Tyler ISD Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford said. β€œIt’s not just one test on one day. Project SEARCH exemplifies that theory of action, preparing students for success in the workforce and empowering them to pursue their dreams with confidence.”

Tyler ISD Student Support Coordinator Abby Dominy highlighted the program's effectiveness, noting that of the 83 interns who have completed Project SEARCH, 74 are currently employed. This marks the ninth class of Project SEARCH interns to graduate from the program at CHRISTUS, with an impressive placement rate surpassing the state average.

The collaborative efforts between CHRISTUS, Tyler ISD, Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services, the Andrews Center, and Winning Edge Employment Services continue to transform students' lives in Tyler ISD.

Laura Noyola-Aguirre, a member of the Class of 2024, shared her heartfelt journey during the graduation speech, expressing gratitude for the life skills learned through the program and announcing her full-time employment at UT Health.

Tyler ISD congratulates the Class of 2024 Project SEARCH graduates and eagerly anticipates their continued growth and accomplishments in the years ahead.
