Tyler ISD is thrilled to report exceptional progress in its Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Credit, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification programs, furthering its mission to prepare students for college and career success.

Dual credit enrollment continues to climb, with more than 1,025 students enrolled this semester.

Advanced Placement results also show remarkable growth. The number of AP exams taken and the percentage of students achieving scores of 3 or higher continue to rise. In 2024, 64.1% of Tyler ISD students who took an AP exam scored a 3 or higher, significantly outperforming the Texas state average of 53.9%. Tyler ISD students exceeded the state passing percentage on 19 out of the 25 AP exams taken.

In Career and Technical Education, Tyler ISD students earned an impressive total of 1,734 industry-based certifications last year. Among seniors, 59% earned at least one certification, while 47% of juniors also achieved at least one certification, highlighting the district’s strong focus on workforce readiness.
