Tyler ISD proudly announces that two campuses have been named 2024 Leader in Me Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll Schools. Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School has been recognized for Exemplary Academic Growth and Caldwell Arts Academy for Exemplary Academic Proficiency. This prestigious recognition highlights each school’s commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized for successful student outcomes and the growth of our campus,” Jack Principal Brett Shelby said. “The Leader in Me program has been instrumental in holding our students accountable for taking ownership of their learning and setting goals. We commend not only our students but also our staff and community, partnering to impact student achievement. We look forward to taking these gains, investing in our students, and making even more progress this year.”
“As a Lighthouse school, our commitment was not to the finish line but pushing forward to constantly be the best we can be, and this embodies that,” Caldwell Principal Dr. Bobby Markle said. “Getting recognized as a Lighthouse campus for our achievements means our students and staff haven’t settled but seek higher mountain tops to conquer. Thank you to our families for their constant support, our students for their ongoing hard work, and our staff for believing we can achieve great things!”
Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School received Leader in Me Legacy status in the spring of 2023, and Caldwell Arts Academy received Leader in Me Lighthouse status this past summer.
The Leader in Me Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll is awarded annually to schools that demonstrate outstanding academic performance on state or national standards. Schools earn this honor by meeting one of two standards: Exemplary Academic Proficiency or Exemplary Academic Growth.
Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School earned the distinction for Exemplary Academic Growth by achieving a significant increase in student performance, showing at least a five-percentile gain in state accountability standards from the previous year.
Caldwell Arts Academy received recognition for Exemplary Academic Proficiency, with its latest state test results placing it in the top 15 percent of schools statewide.
The Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll is determined through an independent data analysis by Schooldigger.com, a nonprofit dedicated to providing reliable school performance data. This recognition underscores the schools’ success in using a culture of leadership to drive academic achievement and serves as a model for other Leader in Me Schools across the nation.
