Congratulations to Daniel Tierrablanca, a senior at Early College High School (ECHS), for being named District Secondary Student of the Month.

Known for his exceptional work ethic and leadership, Daniel is a true success story. After a challenging freshman year, he took accountability, learned from his mistakes, and soared to new heights, improving his class rank by double digits.

As a senior, Daniel is deeply involved in student life. He serves in student government, is a member of the National Honor Society, and sits on the Texas Bank & Trust student board. His passion for helping others shines through his initiative in creating a GroupMe for his classmates in Anatomy & Physiology and organizing study sessions at a local coffee shop. Additionally, Daniel is an active participant in the campus’ Sources of Strength program, supporting mental health awareness.

Daniel’s journey serves as a reminder that hard work, determination, and learning from setbacks can lead to incredible success.

The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
