Caldwell Arts Academy students from kindergarten through eighth grade created a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree for the annual 2024 Festival of Trees Christmas display and fundraiser at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.
The students' creation, βRockin' Around the Arts,β showcases their talent and creativity. Beautiful ornaments and art pieces were crafted to reflect the many arts programs available at Caldwell Arts Academy. Each ornament tells a story of the campus' artistic journey, such as a blue star at the top of the tree, symbolizing the recent naming of Caldwell Arts Academy as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School. The tree even has an extra special touch for the lucky person who receives it. Two gift certificates are on the tree for Caldwell's upcoming middle school musical and another for a free music presentation by Caldwell's talented middle school orchestra or mariachi band.
"This tree is a celebration of our students' hard work, dedication, and the vibrant arts community we've built together,β Caldwell teacher Elise Ellexson said. "We couldn't be prouder of what they've accomplished!"
"We are honored to have worked on this year's Christmas Tree to represent Caldwell Arts Academy," said eighth grader Anderson Brazill. "It was fun to work as a group on this project to help those in need." Fellow students Maddie Poulin and Josiah Gragert were also proud to work on such a special project to help those in the community.
"This is the 20th Anniversary of the Festival of the Trees, and we are excited to have more than 100 trees", said Coleman Swierc, Public Relations at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital. "This event is one of our highlights of the year, especially during the holiday season. It's nice to see trees from not just departments within CHRISTUS but also organizations throughout the community, such as Tyler ISD, participating in this special event.
Known for its active role in the community, Caldwell Arts Academy sees projects like these as opportunities for students and staff to showcase their artistic talents while contributing to meaningful causes. The tree will be on display through December 9 in the CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances-Tyler hospital lobby.
Interested individuals can participate in the fundraiser by bidding on the unique tree. The bidding period coincides with the display dates and can be accessed via the QR code located by the tree or posted on social media.
