UT Tyler recently recognized nine exceptional high school seniors as part of this distinguished program. Selected from nearly 900 applicants, these students demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, perseverance, and a passion for learning through a rigorous selection process, which included essay submissions and interviews.

โ€œThis recognition is not only for their academic excellence but also for their dedication, perseverance, and passion for learning,โ€ said UT Tyler President Julie V. Philley, MD. โ€œIt took a lot of hard work to get to this achievement, and we are extremely proud to welcome them to UT Tyler.โ€

Alexandra was notified of her scholarship during a special surprise visit to Tyler Legacy High School during UT Tylerโ€™s Admissions Honors Scholars Road Show. The visit celebrated her hard work and dedication, marking a significant milestone in her academic journey.

Additionally, Tyler Legacy seniors Via Marie De Villa and Jasmine Haller were awarded the UT Tyler Honors Endowed Scholarship, earning $2,000 per year to support their academic journey at The University of Texas at Tyler.
