Tyler ISD is proud to be recognized by The Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) with a 2025 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations. This prestigious award highlights the district's commitment to excellence in acquiring goods and services while adhering to professional standards.

Established in 2009, the Award of Merit recognizes Texas school districts, open-enrollment charter schools, and education service centers that demonstrate best practices in purchasing operations. Each year, volunteers from the TASBO Purchasing & Supply Management Research Committee evaluate award criteria to ensure alignment with the latest industry standards. The committee then rigorously reviews applications for both new and recertifying recipients.

For 2025, only 80 districts met the stringent criteria required to receive this honor, placing Tyler ISD among the top-tier districts in the state. With approximately 1,200 school districts in Texas, earning this award is a remarkable achievement.

Katherine Ford, Accounts Payable Supervisor, and Chelsi Drosche, Director of Purchasing and Risk Management, proudly accepted the Tyler ISD award at the 2025 TASBO Annual Conference. This recognition highlights Tyler ISD’s dedication to fiscal responsibility and operational excellence in serving students, staff, and the community. This marked the sixth consecutive year for Tyler ISD to receive this award.
