β€œI want to attend Texas Boys State because I believe it will be an amazing learning experience for me,” Aidan said. β€œI admire politics and feel as though I personally have a strong voice when it comes to any type of government. Therefore, I feel as though Texas Boys State will give me a chance to perfect my voice and confidence in the world of politics.”

Garrett echoed similar enthusiasm, sharing, β€œSince I was a child, I have taken great interest in the system of politics and how the government functions. I believe that Boys State is a great opportunity to participate in something I enjoy while also learning valuable lessons about leadership and civic duties. I also have an interest in law and possibly holding a position in government one day.”

Texas Boys State is known for its rigorous and immersive curriculum, where students participate in mock government activities, run for office, and debate policy issues. The program is nationally recognized for its role in shaping future leaders.

β€œBoys State is known for its focus on developing leadership skills and fostering civic engagement among young men,” Tyler Legacy Counselor Susana Martinez-Arroyo said. β€œAidan and Garrett are deeply curious about how government works and are passionate about contributing to their community. Programs like Boys State attract students who are willing to take risks and step outside their comfort zones, and I am confident that they would be no exception.”

Garrett added, β€œI am honored to attend Boys State this summer. Being one of two boys selected from Tyler Legacy has given me great pride. I look forward to learning and growing while at Boys State as it covers an area of great interest to me. I also take pride in continuing my family's legacy of attending this program.”
