In the latest podcast episode of Talks with Tyler ISD, host Jennifer Hines talks with Moore MST Magnet School Principal Aubrey Ballard about what makes Moore one of the top academic performing schools in the state, why Moore students continue to excel at such high levels, and much more!
During the talk, Mr. Ballard gives an example of how Moore provides a variety of course options to help students explore the areas of science, technology, engineering and math while still enjoying the experience a traditional middle school provides.
“To get a really good idea of Moore, I hope listeners will also go to our website to look at some of our parent and student testimonials because the options are limitless,” Mr. Ballard said. “For example, we may have a student in athletics who plays an instrument and is also on track to take pre-AP algebra in the eighth grade, but they really want to take astronomy or meteorology or forensic science or anatomy or any of those types of science electives on top of the grade level science course they are already taking. Or, maybe it’s the integrated physics and chemistry class. So, our students have a number of options where they can tailor-make their schedules to explore a variety of STEM courses and fields while still having the comprehensive school experience.”
