Tyler Legacy High School and Tyler High School students signed letters of intent to Project SEARCH at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System during a Signing Day Friday, March 11.

Project SEARCH at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System is a collaboration between CHRISTUS TMFHS, Tyler ISD, Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Andrews Center, and Winning Edge Employment Services

Project SEARCH is an internationally known business-led model initially established at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital. It is designed to fully immerse students with developmental disabilities into the workplace, allowing them to gain marketable skills to secure competitive employment in their last year of transition from school to work.

Legacy High School Students:

Bret Lee: Bret is very friendly and social. He never meets a stranger and speaks to everyone. He is fascinated with firefighters and police officers and spends a great deal of time researching them. Bret also has a great sense of humor (enjoys laughing), is respectful, punctual, and takes on the responsibility of helping and directing his classmates!

Jordan Mims: Jordan is courteous and friendly and will always greet you with a smile and fist bump. Jordan is a great artist; he works hard in Graphic Design to create spectacular digital images. He studies very hard, is organized, and is driven to complete his assignments and tasks. He also works well with his peers, who think highly of him. He loves basketball and has very much enjoyed the opportunity to assist the Tyler Legacy Men's basketball team by operating the game clock during first period practice every morning for the last several years. 

Channing Nobles:  Channing is a joy to have in class. He is cooperative, punctual, and respectful. Channing likes anime. He would like to be a video game developer, and he wants to help people in the future.

Marc Salvador: Marc is friendly and loves to socialize with others. You can hear him in the hallways speaking to everyone (especially staff). He has an incredible memory and easily retains names and information. If he has met you once, he will never forget you! Marc is very smart, organized, responsible, and works hard each day. He is in the Culinary Arts pathway and goes to the Career & Technology Center (CTC) to learn to cook and prepare meals. Marc is a great artist, and according to his teacher Ms. Baldwin, he has the best handwriting she has ever seen! Marc stated that he would like a job in the hospital taking blood pressure and measuring oxygen levels. 

Jayzon Taylor: Jayzon is always smiling, in a great mood, and ready to work. He is respectful to adults and has great comradery with his fellow students. He is a great team player. He is in the Culinary Arts Pathway and goes to the CTC. In the future, he would like to be a chef. 

Tyler High School Students: 

Trey Hardin: Trey is a hard worker and loves to help his classmates with academic work and work tasks. His classmates also look to him as the class leader. His teacher said that he is the best reader in class. He tries to attempt any assignment even if it is difficult for him. Trey states that he would like to work in the hospital.

Samodrick King: Sam has a great sense of humor and is very entertaining! He always says hello and gives a salute. He is a hard worker and very polite. He would like to be a chef in the future.  

Joel Landeros: Joel does not meet a stranger. He is friendly and likes to make his classmates laugh. Teachers say he is respectful and helpful. He is good with technology and enjoys helping others utilize their technology. Joel would like to be a security guard or work in food service once he completes Project SEARCH. 

Danny Smith: Danny is a hard worker and is excited about working! He will keep working until you tell him to stop. Danny currently helps his family by working on the family farm, and he takes pride in that. He is kind to everyone and goes out of his way to help anyone.
