Congratulations to Kanyon Edson, a 1st grade student at Andy Woods Elementary School, for being named the District Elementary Student of the Month for September.

Kanyon has consistently exhibited exceptional qualities that make her a standout member of the school community, embodying the 7 Habits each day.

Kanyon's positive attitude shines brightly in the classroom. Her enthusiasm for learning is contagious, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that uplifts everyone around her. She is a wonderful team player, always ready to collaborate and assist her classmates, demonstrating excellent cooperation and teamwork skills.

Kanyon’s academic progress has been remarkable. Her eagerness to learn is evident in her commendable achievements, particularly in her academic growth. In addition, Kanyon displays a strong sense of responsibility, consistently following classroom rules, taking care of her belongings, and contributing to the organization of the learning environment.

One of Kanyon’s most outstanding qualities is her kindness and empathy. She goes out of her way to help classmates and share materials. A touching example of her generosity was when she donated $3 from the tooth fairy to the school’s book fair fundraiser, helping to ensure every student could purchase a book.

Kanyon's active participation and caring nature make her an inspiration to the entire school community. Tyler ISD proudly recognizes her as the Elementary Student of the Month.

The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.
