The 9th Annual #SchoolisCool event will take place as a drive-thru event at Fun Forest Park Thursday, August 4, 2022. This back to school event offers Smith County families an opportunity to prepare for the new school year. Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students that attend the event are given a backpack with school supplies. We give out 2,000 backpacks and they are given on a first come, first served basis.
Thanks to the continued partnership between the City of Tyler, Tyler Area Business Education Council, and Tyler ISD, in 2021 we were able to distribute nearly 2,000 backpacks to school children. This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations from local sponsors and the enthusiastic volunteers.
