Boulter Middle School proudly welcomed the esteemed Prairie View A&M University Marching Storm band for their debut performance in Tyler at a special STAAR pep rally. The event provided an unforgettable experience for the students, combining entertainment with valuable educational insights.
The nationally acclaimed Marching Storm, renowned for its dynamic performances and innovative routines, brought students and staff to their feet with cheers. βWe are honored to host the Prairie View A&M University Marching Storm,β Principal Justin Simmons said as he expressed his gratitude. βItβs a unique opportunity for our students to be inspired by their performance.β
The Marching Storm showcased the spirit of historically black universities and their dedication to musical excellence. Students and staff were captivated by the bandβs passionate delivery, which infused the pep rally with a new level of energy and excitement before the upcoming STAAR test. "Today was giving our students their return on investment," Simmons said. "Students and teachers have been working hard, collectively for STAAR review and to be prepared and ready to go next week. I have some connection to students that previously graduated from Tyler ISD right here at Prairie View A&M."
With a legacy spanning more than 80 years, the Marching Storm has graced prestigious events like the Rose Parade in California and the Super Bowl halftime show, leaving an indelible mark on the nationβs marching band scene. Their commitment to excellence, evident in every performance, sets the standard for bands nationwide.
"Oh, I think it was magnificent. I've never heard a band like that ever," Boulter Middle School band member Davin Gordy said. "Because it was something that we've never seen, because they're just a whole other level."
