Cultural Exchange

On Friday, April 4th, Mr. Rios, a TylerISD Visiting International Teacher at Boulter Middle School, participated in a special cultural exchange with fellow middle schoolers from Colegio BilingΓΌe Villa Freinet, a bilingual school in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Students in Mexico

Through a live Zoom call, students from both schools had the opportunity to talk about their everyday lives and what it's like to be a middle schooler in their respective countries. They shared stories, asked each other questions, and discovered both the similarities and unique differences in their cultures, school routines, hobbies, and more.

The experience was eye-opening and enriching for everyone involved. It allowed our students to practice cross-cultural communication, expand their global awareness, and form meaningful connections with peers from a different part of the world.

We’re incredibly proud of the respect, curiosity, and enthusiasm our students brought to the conversation, and we’re looking forward to building more opportunities like this in the future!
