The Caldwell Arts Academy third-grade team, affectionately known as "Swifties" in homage to pop superstar Taylor Swift, came together to craft a spectacular Christmas tree for the annual 2023 Festival of Trees Christmas display and fundraiser at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospi
Taking inspiration from the positive impact Taylor Swift and her music have had on their lives, the "Swiftie" teachers rallied their students to create a one-of-a-kind tree that embodies the festive spirit and promotes kindness and acceptance during the holiday season.
The students utilized "Swiftie" friendship bracelets from the album "Midnights" to craft unique ornaments and garlands, infusing the tree with a personal touch. Adding to the magic, Caldwell parent Robin Paine lent her expertise to sew a special tree skirt adorned with the phrase "Holly Jolly Era."
Teacher Mrs. Ellexson expressed her excitement saying, "We were thrilled to be able to create this tree for a good cause and loved having our students join us in this creation. Taylor Swift has always been good at bringing people together, and we enjoyed singing and creating this tree with our students!"
"If this were my tree, it would stay up all year," Caldwell student Maddie Barber added.
Known for its active role in the community, Caldwell Arts Academy sees projects like these as opportunities for students and staff to showcase their artistic talents while contributing to meaningful causes. The tree will be displayed from November 20 to December 6 in the CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances-Tyler hospital lobby.
Interested individuals can participate in the fundraiser by bidding on the unique tree. The bidding period coincides with the display dates and can be accessed via the QR code located by the tree or posted on social media.
As Taylor Swift says, “No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.”
