It was early Saturday morning as 4th and 5th graders from Caldwell Arts Academy piled into the dance studio at Legacy High School. Eager and nervous, they were in for a special treat with a professional choreographer to teach our new Dance Company a unique routine. Why, because at Caldwell, master classes with a professional artist is crucial to elevating our Stars craft.
Sponsored by the Caldwell Arts Alliance, this master class wasn’t the first opportunity for our stars, but it was a first for this new Dance Company. A competing group, these dancers are working not just on routines for the many performances, but for spring competitions locally and state wide.
Elementary dance director Lyndsay Hale says this master class is a crucial step in the process. “All competitive dance company’s bring in professional choreographers to help push the dancers into routines that showcase their strength and grace. This Arts Alliance sponsored opportunity is a blessing and the girls loved every minute of it!”
