A note from Mrs. Cureton:
Wow! We had an amazing turnout for our Living Wax Museum! Thank you to all of our families who came out for this event. It was awesome to see our kids leading their learning with these research projects and the pride they took in their presentations last night. Families-thank you all for helping us prepare your students for this event and learning alongside them!
Read Across America Week: Next week, we will celebrate the many ways reading can transform our world with Read Across America Week! Students will participate in fun, engaging activities in class to celebrate the love for reading--including some guest readers! We would also love to get everyone in the spirit this week with a themed dress week! See the flyer below for dress up days.
Leader in Me Dream Night: We are excited to have families out for our Leader in Me Dream Night on Thursday, March 9th from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Please mark your calendars to join us! We will be raffling off two awesome prize baskets for two families in attendance. More details to come!
Book Fair: Our spring book fair will be held March 6th-10th. During this time, families are welcome to visit the library to purchase books from the book fair. The book fair will be open to families from 5:30pm-6:30pm during our Leader in Me Dream Night on Thursday, March 9th. We will also have a morning (7:15-8:00) and lunch time (10:45-12:30) family event for the book fair so that families may come to purchase items from the book fair at those times (more details to come).
Transfer Application: The transfer window is now open. If your student is currently a transfer student at Clarkston and you would like them to attend school at Clarkston for the 23-24 school year, please fill out the Tyler ISD transfer application. Students currently on transfers will be sent home this application and should return the application no later than March 1, 2023. If you have any questions about the transfer process or application window, please contact our front office.
Early Release: We will have an early release day on Friday, March 10th. Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm so that teachers may attend professional learning in the afternoon. There will be no Boys and Girls Club services offered on this day. Please make plans to have your student picked up by 12:30pm as staff will be in professional learning after that time.
Have a great weekend!
-Sarah Cureton, Principal
