Cougar Connection Newsletter

A Note from Mrs. Cureton:

We've had a quick week this week with our winter weather day! Due to the cancellation of school on Tuesday, 1/16, we have extended our mClass & iReady assessment windows. Please be on the lookout for student growth reports to go home the week of January 29th--February 2nd.

Morning Arrival Reminder: if your student arrives to campus after 7:50am, they must check in at the front office and have a parent/guardian sign them in at the office. Please make sure you report to the front office to sign in, with your student, when arriving after 7:50am.

Math, Makers, & More Night: Please join us for our annual Math, Makers, & More Night on Thursday, January 25th from 5:30pm--7:00pm. We will have fun math, science, & STEM activities for families to complete at the event & take home for more fun at home! PTA will also have a pancake dinner in the cafΓ© for families & will be raffling a few gift cards to those families in attendance. The pancake dinner will be $5/person--all you can eat. For families of 3 or more, the cost is $15, total. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

100th day of School-January 31, 2024: **Please note the date change due to our winter weather day on 1/16/24.** We invite all students to join us in celebrating the 100th day of school! Wear 100 of some items (stickers, buttons, Band-Aids, etc) or dress as an 100 year old! Let's have some fun and celebrate 100 days of learning!

Have a great weekend!

Arrival Procedures

students should enter campus through the cafeteria doors each morning. Only students and staff are allowed to enter through the cafeteria doors. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria, and is free to all students, from 7:00am-7:45am. Any student arriving to campus after 7:50am will need to have a parent walk them in through the front entrance doors.

Dismissal Procedures:

Parents should complete an After-School Action Plan(with classroom teacher) so that teachers and staff have a written plan for each student.  Parents must call the front office or submit a written request for student dismissal changes by 2:30 p.m. each day.

Students in grades pre-k, kindergarten, and first will not be allowed to dismiss as "walkers". They must have an older sibling at Clarkston to walk home with them.

Parents may pick up their child by signing him/her out through the office (before 2:30pm).  Students will be released only to persons listed for student pick-up.  Anyone picking up a student shall be required to show valid identification.  When possible, schedule appointments during non-school times (After school, Student Holidays…)
