student stepping performance at open house

Last week we hosted Open House and families were invited for a performance by 4th and 5th grade followed by a PTA meeting. Families then went to classrooms to speak with teachers, view student work, and see any newly-collected data. We had over 100 students represented last night! Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped support your Clarkston student.

School events that invite parents to see student work and review student data play a vital role in strengthening the partnership between home and school. These events provide parents with valuable insights into their child's academic progress, allowing them to celebrate achievements and identify areas for growth. By showcasing student work, schools give parents a tangible view of what their children are learning, helping them stay informed and engaged in the educational process. Reviewing data together also encourages open communication between parents and teachers, fostering a collaborative approach to supporting each student’s academic journey. Such involvement not only boosts student confidence by showing that their efforts are recognized but also creates a sense of community where parents feel empowered to contribute to their child’s success.
