This week 1st grade is learning how to write letters to someone! ✉️ They are practicing writing the date, salutation, body, and signature. 📬 ✍️
Getting ready for STAAR the LAVA WAY!
Reading started with cooling off outside with a book. Then, the 4th graders prepared themselves to enter the volcano 🌋 that erupted in their classroom over the night. Students had to complete 20 math problems to escape the lava mountain. 🏔️
Students who got "burned" had to make it to the pond in rocket time to cool off! 😎 🐾
3rd grade survived Emoji Island today! They are ready to master the math STAAR! 🤓🧠🐾

Mrs. Mercer's 4th graders are preparing for math STAAR next week! Yesterday, they played a review game and students could hunt for Easter eggs in the classroom to earn points or cute bunnies! 🐰 🧠 💪

Ms. Ruesewald took her 2nd grade classes out on a field trip to the Clarkston outdoors to identify and find plants in different stages of the plant cycle.

Ms. Freeman's 5th graders were working in small groups to analyze and score ECR writing submissions. They used the STAAR scoring rubric to look closely at grammar conventions and organization of ideas. ✍️ 🧠 💪 🤝

This week Coding Club has been working on a variety of projects. Students have been coding a dance party in Code.org, completing coding lessons with Sphero Bolt robots, and building their own robots from scratch with Lego robotic kits. 🤖🧠💪💻

Mrs. Craft’s 4th Grade Class Had a BLAST Getting Ready for STAAR!
Our students geared up for the STAAR test in the most exciting way—by playing a Capture the Flag review game in small groups! Each team worked hard to “capture” questions and master their skills in preparation for the big test.
The energy, teamwork, and focus were off the charts! And of course, the top-performing team walked away with some awesome prizes for their effort and success.
Way to go, 4th graders—you’re ready to crush that test!
