🏒🤖 **Winter Olympics Dash Shootout!** 🤖🏒

Our Coding Club students recently completed their exciting *Winter Olympics Dash Shootout* project! Teams built hockey goals with K’Nex, created hockey sticks with Legos, attached them to their Dash robots, and coded them to shoot and score from different spots on the rink. 🥅

This hands-on STEM challenge strengthened teamwork, problem-solving, and coding skills — all while having a blast! We are so proud of the creativity, perseverance, and innovation our students showed throughout this project! 👏✨

📚✨ In Case You Missed It… Our Living History Museum! Students researched influential African-American historical figures, created trifold projects, and delivered speeches—many even dressed the part! As families toured, students confidently shared their learning and brought history to life. Thank you to our amazing parents and families for helping with projects, practicing speeches, and supporting this special event! 👏🏽✨

Ms. Katie’s 5th grade art students have been hard at work using clay to design and create their own functional whistles! This unique art form dates back thousands of years, giving students the opportunity to connect their creativity with history while learning new techniques in sculpture and design.

Even more impressive, this is a higher-level project typically introduced in middle school — and our 5th graders are rising to the challenge beautifully. Their focus, problem-solving, and craftsmanship have truly been on display throughout this hands-on experience! 🎨👏

✏️📚 Ms. Graves’ kindergarten class took their writing to the next level today! Using picture writing prompts, students carefully studied the images and turned their ideas into complete sentences. 🖼️➡️📝 It was amazing to see their creativity come to life as they transformed what they saw into written words. We are so proud of these growing writers! 🌟👏

Today our Student Lighthouse Team took time to lead with heart 💙 They wrote handwritten notes of gratitude to our 3rd–5th grade teachers, thanking them for the time, encouragement, and belief they pour into our students every single day. They also shared words of affirmation with their peers as they prepare for tomorrow’s district reading benchmark. When students encourage teachers… and students encourage students… that’s leadership in action. We are proud of our leaders for reminding everyone: ✨ You are prepared. ✨ You are capable. ✨ You can do hard things. Let’s go show what we know tomorrow! 📚💪 #StudentLeadership #LighthouseLeaders #Gratitude #WeCanDoHardThings #ReadingReady
