Practicum of Design project

Our CTC Practicum of Graphic Design students created their own challenging project based on a prompt given by their teacher, Mr. Sturrock. Based on the information of sales for Hydrolyzed Water vs the sales of Energy Drinks, students began planning in groups to formulate a marketing and branding plan for their own companies. Groups had to decide, vote, edit, form stances, re-plan, and reorganize until a cohesive plan was formed. Afterward, students presented their plan to Mr. Sturrock for review and approval. Once approved, students created their own rubric to determine mastery and clarity. Finally, students began sketching their ideas before moving to digital design. One team formed the company Nimbus after originally calling it Continental Wings. It was interesting to see the dynamic of students having to compromise, self-edit and come to the most successful conclusion for their team. Here, you can see the Nimbus team and their efforts as they worked through the project from beginning to end. Upon completion of the project, the teams will each have a comprised poster of four components: a logo, a label, and two marketing pieces.
