CTC's wonderful new Health Science teacher, Mrs. Jones, guided students through learning the three different types of skeletal muscles. Mrs. Jones used various strategies from monitored group discussion, pair share, along with auditory, visual and tactile methods to help students understand the skeletal muscle system. The lesson culminated with students learning how to use a microscope to identify the various skeletal muscles in the body on prepared slides. Health Student students worked in groups for peer-to-peer learning and evaluation.
Students in this pathway have the opportunity to obtain an EKG Technician Level 3 Certification, a CNA Level 4 Certification, a Certified Medical Assistant Level 4 Certification, an EMT Level 4 Certification and/or a Pharmacy Technician Level 4 Certification.
