The Rose City Readers program is set to kick off its highly-anticipated 20 Book Challenge, a literary journey that promises to captivate the imaginations of Hubbard students. Spanning two consecutive nine-week periods, from October 17, 2023, to March 8, 2024, the challenge encourages students to read 20 books and explore a diverse range of genres.

Facilitated through Tyler ISD Libraries, the challenge is designed to foster a love of reading and reward students for their literary achievements. Participants earn badges or stickers for each genre they complete, adding an element of fun and motivation to their reading endeavors. A library celebration awaits all students who successfully complete the challenge.

In the spirit of friendly competition, a championship will be awarded to the middle school within the district that boasts the most completed challenges. This adds an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie to the challenge.

To help students track their progress, the Rose City Readers offer two options: a Printable Badge Tracker and a Digital Badge Tracker using Google Slides. Students receive recognition on the District Leaderboard as they complete their challenges, showcasing the schools leading in the race to achieve the most challenges.

Rewards and prizes are aplenty: campus-level celebrations for all completing students, and district-level championships for elementary, middle, and high school campuses with the most challenges successfully tackled. The 20 Book Challenge promises to be a remarkable journey of reading, growth, and community engagement for Tyler ISD students.
