The newly adopted district calendar continues to feature the 9-week grading periods. Each year, the calendar committee seeks input and feedback from administrators, teachers, parents, business representatives, and community members. A draft calendar is created according to the best interests of students, staff, and parents.
“We design the calendar each year to align with our students’ learning objectives while accommodating traditional breaks for faculty, staff, and families,” said Tyler ISD Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford. “We also continue to intentionally incorporate professional development days throughout the year to better support our teachers and ensure students stay on track for success.”
A first reading of the draft calendar was held at the November regular board meeting. The community was then invited to provide feedback on the calendar by completing an online survey.
