Saturday, May 7, 2022, Tyler ISD voters approved the $89 million called bond election. The bond package provides for the construction of new campuses for Hubbard Middle School and Early College High School.
“On behalf of the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees, staff, and students, thank you for your support in passing this bond election,” Tyler ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marty Crawford said. “As we continue the academic work and focus on successful student outcomes, we welcome you to continue your engagement in making your school system great!”
New Hubbard Middle School $63M
- Replacement of the 55-year-old campus comparable to the 2013 Boulter, Moore, and Three Lakes projects
- Located on current site designed to exact specifications as other middle schools
- 1,200 student capacity
- Updated safety and security features
- Improved traffic flow and designated parking areas
- Meets or exceeds all energy/building codes, ADA, TEA, and UIL requirements
New Early College High School $26M
- Located next to Tyler ISD Career and Technology Center
- 650+ student capacity
- Cafeteria to be shared with CTC students
- Updated safety and security features
- Dedicated parking areas
- Meets or exceeds all energy/building codes, ADA, and TEA requirements
“For nearly the past 20 years, Tyler and its surrounding communities have transformed K-12 education’s place in the Capitol of East Texas’ value system,” Crawford said. “Saturday, Tyler ISD taxpayers, voters, and parents proved their willingness to finish the task once again. What a great day for the students, teachers, and staff at Tyler ISD’s Hubbard Middle School and Early College High School. And what an incredible statement the Tyler community has made about itself over the last 20 years and now, with this approval, wrapping up two decades of work on how to invest in its future: its children.”
Students will be housed on the current campuses during the construction process and could move into the new buildings as early as the 2023 Christmas break. Construction could start as early as this summer.
