6th grade SS was killinβ the blended learning environment today with small groups, AVID Foldables, and a βShow What You Knowβ and illustrate station. Mrs. Clarkstonβs classes were comparing three different culture traits, and were having a great time doing so! Go Huskies!





AVID students collaborate with an elbow partner to process and connect thinking (steps 2 and 3 in focused note-taking process) in their focused notes today over a video called βEveryday Leadership.β Lovingβ¦Learningβ¦Leading: the Hubbard way! π§‘ Go Huskies!





What do you get when you add Mentos and Coke? An EXPLOSIVE Science class! Mr. Thompson and Ms. Hardin combined forces today to conduct two experiments: Mentos & Coke, and Elephant Toothpaste! Students were able to learn first-hand how to identify a physical and chemical reaction! Go Huskies! π§‘





Students in Ms. Lemons 6th grade Math class were learning in stations with a teacher table today. Check out their smiles! Just goes to prove that math can be fun, too! Go Huskies! π§‘





Our first PTA-sponsored activity is a back-to-school social for our 6th graders next Thursday, September 1, right after school from 3:45-5:45pm (flyer attached). This free event will have food, games, and laser tag in the back gym! Staff will be at the event, but parents are welcome to attend, help serve food and assist with laser tag. 7th grade Science students had a groovy Penny Lab activity today in both Ms. Modesittβs and Mrs. Canfieldβs classes! Supplies for the Penny Lab: $2.75 (the pennies). Seeing students investigate and explore? PRICELESS. π§‘π¬π§« Go Huskies!





Have you ever seen kids look so intently at a dictionary?! Students enjoyed playing a βVocabulary Dictionary Challengeβ in Ms. Rosenliebβs 7th grade RLA class today! A testament that good teachers can make ANYTHING fun! ππ§‘ Go Huskies!





You wouldnβt even know that these kiddos are doing a TEKS-based quiz because they are all smiling and having a good time! Mrs. Gardnerβs 7th grade RLA class earned βFree Sit Fridayβ by earning 16 CHAMPS points. They blew away their 12 point goal! Go Huskies! π§‘




Congratulations to our very own Mr. Thompson for incorporating inquiry in his 6th Grade Science stations on Day 1 and 2, and for earning a sweet surprise from Tyler ISD C&I! Mr. Thompson did a βMystery Boxβ questioning and observation station to introduce the Scientific Process! How neat!! GO HUSKIES! π§‘
