Legacy's Teacher of the Month is Mitchell Ray. Mr. Ray was voted by Legacy staff for his dedication to his students. He is always keeping students engaged with his humor and wit. He is a reliable team member that we all can count on.
Subjects taught?: I teach on-level Physics and AP Physics 1 and 2. I'm hoping to lead a team of kids in the cardboard boat races at UT Tyler (sign up guys!).
How long have you been teaching?: This is my 12th year teaching, and I've taught every science but astronomy.
What is your favorite thing about Legacy?: My favorite thing about Legacy is the community. The way students, families, and staff come together is outstanding. Their standards for teacher of the month are slipping a little but I'm confident we will bounce back next month.
A "fun" fact is that I was once on a British kid's TV show. I was the "expert" who makes sure the host doesn't die while messing with whatever wildlife they shouldn't be messing with, in this case a 110 lb Alligator Snapping Turtle. All in all, teenagers are more of a challenge than giant snapping turtles but they're also more rewarding to work with...most days.
