Legacy students with their certificates for Project Search

This morning Legacy seniors and affiliated students Laura Noyola Aguirre, Keyshawn Jackson, Chris Lane, Jefferson Ylarde, and Abby Grage signed their certificates for their work commitment with Project Search.  Project Search is a partnership with Tyler ISD, Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, and other local businesses where students work in supported work training program and rotate through different internships within the workplace setting to be ready for competitive and independent employment after 1 year in Project Search.

Teachers, friends, counselors, and district and local representatives from our community partners lined the Legacy media center entrance to give each student a cheering welcome as they entered this morning.  The crowd heard words from superintendent Dr. Crawford about our 9 year partnership with Project Search and the success our district has had.

Tyler ISD Special Education coordinator, Tracy Johnston shared a brief bio about each of the students and their plans with Project Search.  The event concluded with the students signing their certificates.  What a special event for all in attendance.

We are so proud of these students in all they have accomplished and wish them the best of luck on this next chapter with Project Search! Go Raiders!
