Tyler Legacy High Schoolβs Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy kicked off the school year with nearly 40 Red Raider students in attendance. The first meeting of the year focused on the Million Book Giveaway initiative, where students packaged bundles of books to distribute to local elementary schools and organizations that support children in the Tyler community.
"Our new scholars will work on three teams this year: fundraising, communications, and logistics to develop their leadership skills,β said Kala Morrow, Dean of Instruction at Tyler Legacy. βToday's session focused on gratitude, servant leadership, and thinking about what kind of leader they want to be! I am excited that students are interested in learning about leading. We have amazing students at Legacy, and this organization is rooted in empowering students to make a difference in their school and in their community."
Tyler Legacy senior Sebastian Raney shared his enthusiasm, saying, βIβm excited to serve the community through the projects the club organizes.β
Senior Reagan Jones added, "I'm excited to grow my leadership skills and serve my community."
Junior Emily Heller echoed this sentiment, stating, βThis club is a great opportunity to help our local community while having fun. It's also a great opportunity to grow as a leader while you get to know new people."
We are so excited to have a great year with the Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy!
