β€œTyler Legacy is the right place because of the talent and drive of these girls, whom I have gotten to know through coaching at the school and club levels. They are ready to compete,” said Coach Scott.

A native of Austin, Coach Scott helped guide his Grace Community squad to one of its most successful seasons in school history in 2024. The Cougars went 16-7 overall and advanced to the area playoff round. During their season, Grace Community earned wins over Austin Regents, Austin Hyde Park, Gilmer, and Pine Tree. He has been the Head Coach of the Cougars for nine seasons.

β€œWe are excited to welcome Coach Scott as the next head volleyball coach at Tyler Legacy,” Athletic Director Greg Priest said. β€œHis success at the high school and club level speaks for itself. He has a great reputation in East Texas, which makes him a perfect fit for the position.”

β€œWe want to be built on ownership. I want our players to know that this is their program, and the program will be as good as they want it to be,” said Coach Scott. β€œThe culture that we’re going to start here is one where they are going to do their jobs. They are going to take ownership of what their jobs are and compete with every ball and every play.”
