Our Legacy staff of the month is Abby McCarty. Ms. McCarty was voted on by the staff of Legacy for her outstanding work in and out of the classrooms with our students. She has a heart of gold and makes all students feel welcome and capable! Legacy staff loves her positive attitude.
When asked about herself, Abby said, "I am so humbled and honored to have been chosen as staff member of the month! This is my 7th year as a Special Education teacher, and my 2nd year as a Red Raider teaching in the PTC Unit (Precision Teaching Classroom). I am passionate about helping ALL students be successful and independent, raising awareness about Autism, and creatively creating opportunities to be inclusive and to practice social skills in everyday settings. My favorite thing about working at Tyler Legacy is the camaraderie of our staff and administrators, and the overall positive impact our campus strives to make in our community and beyond. Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering with The Junior League of Tyler and Fostering Collective, traveling the world with my fiance, and spending time with our family and friends (and our dogs!). Purpose fuels passion and it is my absolute privilege to serve my students and my campus: Every child. Every chance. Every day. #SPEDrocks!"
