Shane Prescott, Statistics and Algebra 2 teacher at Tyler Legacy High School, was recently recognized as high school math teacher of the month by the Tyler ISD Curriculum and Instruction Mathematics Department. Mr. Prescott is a long-time TISD teacher who has previously served in many capacities including math department chair and math master teacher. We are blessed to have him back in the classroom full-time where he has lead the implementation of a new Statistics course, not only assisting with the creation the curriculum, but setting an example for other teachers of the course. Mr. Prescott's students are routinely engaged in high-energy activities that require them to think deeply and creatively about situations. He uses his wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that his students are prepared to apply their learning both in future college courses and in the real world.
Congratulations to Shane Prescott, a true asset to math instruction in Tyler ISD and Tyler Legacy!
