Orr Elementary Celebrates Black History Spirit Week: Feb. 17-21

Orr Elementary is excited to celebrate Black History Spirit Week from February 17-21, honoring culture, history, and excellence! Students and staff are encouraged to participate in themed dress-up days, embracing unity and learning about Black heritage in a fun and engaging way.

Here’s what’s in store for the week:

πŸ“… Monday (2/17) – Flag Day 🚩
Each grade level will represent a color from the Pan-African Flag:
πŸ”΄ Red – Head Start, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 3rd Grade
⚫ Black – 1st and 4th Grade
🟒 Green – 2nd and 5th Grade

πŸ“… Tuesday (2/18) – Booker T. Washington Day πŸŽ“
In honor of Booker T. Washington’s contributions as an educator and leader, students are encouraged to wear hairbows (girls) and bow ties (boys)!

πŸ“… Wednesday (2/19) – Your BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL πŸ–€
Show your pride and strength by wearing all black!

πŸ“… Thursday (2/20) – Throwback Thursday πŸ•ΊπŸΎ
Dress in your favorite β€˜70s, β€˜80s, or β€˜90s fashion!

πŸ“… Friday (2/21) – HBCU/College Day πŸŽ“
Represent your favorite HBCU or college with a shirt or school colors!
