Tyler ISD looks forward to graduating more than 1,100 students from its high schools beginning May 17, 2023, through May 20, 2023. The Class of 2023 from RISE Academy, Early College High School, Tyler Legacy High School, and Tyler High School will each hold graduation ceremonies.

Graduation Ceremonies

Wednesday, May 17, 7 p.m. – RISE Academy
Thursday, May 18, 7 p.m.  β€“ Early College High School (ECHS)

Friday, May 19, 8 p.m.  β€“ Tyler Legacy High School 
Saturday, May 20, 8 p.m.  β€“ Tyler High School

RISE Academy and Early College High School ceremonies will be held in the Tyler High School Varsity Gymnasium. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and graduation will begin at 7:00 p.m. 

Tyler Legacy and Tyler High ceremonies will be held at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m., and graduation will begin at 8:00 p.m. If inclement weather should occur, the ceremony will be delayed or possibly be rescheduled for the following day. School administrators will message graduates and families directly with updated plans.

Tyler ISD Clear Bag Policy

Graduates and guests are reminded of the Tyler ISD Clear Bag Policy. Guests are encouraged NOT to bring bags of any type into the gymnasium or stadium, including camera and binocular bags. The following outlines bags that are permitted:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12";
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar);
  • Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand);
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:

  • Purses larger than a clutch bag
  • Diaper bags - Items normally carried in a diaper bag must be put into a clear plastic bag.
  • Cases (camera, binoculars, etc.)
  • Backpacks / Cinch Bags (includes clear backpacks/cinch bags)
  • Fanny packs
  • Reusable grocery totes
  • Mesh or straw bags
  • Duffle bags 
  • Large totes

Attendees are not allowed to bring in noise makers, balloons, signs, or firecrackers of any kind.

Both facilities are alcohol, tobacco, and vape-free zones. Guests are invited to take photographs and video recordings from their seats. All mobile communication devices must be turned off during the ceremony.
