Ramey Elementary School recently held an inspiring hybrid virtual and in-person Career Day, featuring an impressive lineup of professionals. The event was headlined by the first African American Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Mrs. Eunice Taylor Cicero, who shared her groundbreaking journey and the importance of perseverance.

Students also had the chance to talk with a talented recording artist and Ramey music teacher Mr. LePatrick Thomas, who spoke about creativity and dedication in the music industry. A yoga instructor, Ms. Liz Neuman, conducted an in person session on wellness and mindfulness, emphasizing the importance of physical and mental health.

A makeup artist, Ms. Kamaha Devereaux, provided insights into the beauty industry and demonstrated various techniques, sparking interest among many students. Additionally, an EMT Mr. Anthony McLean, shared experiences from the frontlines of emergency medical services, highlighting the importance of quick thinking and compassion.

The local fire department rounded out the event with an engaging demonstration and discussion about fire safety and the vital role firefighters play in the community.

Many other community members participated virtually by recording videos answering questions about their careers. These videos featured an American Airlines pilot, a physical therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, truck driver, college athlete, daycare owner, and baker.

This diverse group of professionals provided Ramey Elementary students with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration, showcasing the wide range of career possibilities available to them.
