Help us welcome Dana Smith to the swamp! Ms. Smith will join the 8th grade Science team next year. Here is a little bit about Ms. Smith:
Where are you from? I am originally from Dallas. I moved to East Texas in 2004 and lived here until I moved to Colorado last year. Colorado wasnβt a good fit for me so, I am happily back in East Texas again.
Family? I have two sons. David is 17 and Luke is 16.
Hobbies? I enjoy DIY, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with my boys.
Experience? I taught at Foster in Longview for three years, Moore in Tyler for four years, and last year at Hodgkins Leadership Academy in Denver.
Favorite Middle School Memory? My favorite middle school memory is surprising our teacher with a party before she left to have her baby.
Anything else? I am very excited to be back in Texas and part of the team at Three Lakes Middle School.

Help us welcome Alli Mathews to the swamp! Miss Mathews will join the 7th grade math team next year. Here is a little more about her:
Where are you from? Nacogdoches, Texas, but I have lived in Tyler for the past 7 years.
Experience in education? My experience in education began at Tyler Junior College where I served as a professor and clinical coordinator of dental hygiene. I also practiced as a dental hygienist which led me back to my love of education and teaching dental hygiene students. I am excited to begin teaching middle school math at TLMS!
Family? Me and my FiancΓ© have three cats that we rescued and love to be outdoors.
Hobbies? Some of my hobbies include golfing, live music, and spending time at the lake.
Favorite middle school memory? I grew up playing sports as young as I can remember, but it was so much fun finally being able to play sports at school with my best friends. My favorite class was 8th-grade history, my teacher would always incorporate fun games and had a giant timeline hanging around the entire room that helped me remember important historical dates that I will never forget.

Help us welcome Mary Goode to the swamp! Mrs. Goode will join the 6th grade RLA team next year. We are so excited!
Where are you from? Born in Boston, Massachusetts, raised in Leander, Texas!
Family? My little family of four consists of myself, my husband (Connor), son (Case), and our catahula-lab mix (Chief). They are the loves of my life and my reason for living β€οΈ
Hobbies? True crime, skincare, reading, dance ππ½
Experience in education? Previously a sub for 2 years, but have many family members who have been in the education profession for many years.
Favorite middle school memory? Every Friday my math teacher, Mr. Lamareux would play a song called βFeelinβ Groovyβ and let us tell the class what βgroovyβ activity we would be doing that weekend.
Anything else? I am excited to work with so many incredible individuals. Thank you for the opportunity! Iβm beyond thankful to God for leading me here.


The gator cheerleaders are on π₯ at camp. They received the Herkie award for outstanding performance and spirit. They also received two superior awards; this is the highest level of award given at NCA camp! Lastly, they received a spirit stick again on night 2! π

Help us welcome Kaitlin Jones to the swamp! Miss Jones will join the 6th grade math team next year. Here is a little more about Miss Jones:
Where are you from? Winnsboro, Texas
Family? I have a wonderful family that supports me in everything that I do! I have an older sister who works at Roberts & Roberts Law Firm and a younger brother attending Texas Tech. My mother is a Special Education teacher and a big reason I became an educator. My father is a CFO of a trucking company in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Hobbies? My hobbies include playing golf and traveling to new places with my friends and family.
Experience in education? I have 2 years experience as an elementary teacher, but I'm excited for this new change in teaching 6th grade! :)
Favorite middle school memory? My favorite middle school memories are making our cheer team and being able to cheer on my school at pep-rallies and football games.
Anything else?...I enjoy baking, crafts, and dancing. I trained in dance for 15 years and was a pointe ballerina. I have a love for children and want them to be successful in and out of the classroom. I can't wait to join the Three Lakes team and make a major impact on our students' lives!

Help us officially welcome Brenda Barnett to the swamp! She was a student teacher under Coach Maggie Wright this spring so she is familiar with our Gators. Coach Barnett will join the 7th grade Texas History team and be an additional girls coach next year for our Gators. Here is a little bit about Coach Barnett:
Where are you from? I am from Elkhart, Texas.
Family? My parents are Margaret and Greg Barnett and my sister Bridget Barnett.
Hobbies? My hobbies are spending time with my friends and family and playing with my sweet nephew Ryker.
Experience? My experience in education so far has been my student teaching at Jack Elementary and Three Lakes.
Favorite Middle School Memory? My favorite middle school memory is winning district champs in both 7th and 8th grade volleyball and track.
Anything else? I was on the UT Tyler Cheer and Stunt teams for 3 years while in college.
