Gators, Help us welcome new teacher, Miss Hannah Callison, to TLMS! Miss Callison is teaching 7th grade math. We are sure glad she is a Gator!
Where are you from? I am from Richmond, Texas, a town Southwest of Houston.
Family? I have three sisters: an older sister, a twin sister, and a little sister. My mom and twin sister are both elementary school teachers back home. My older sister is a nurse in the Dallas area and my little sister is studying nursing at UT Austin. My family is the most important thing to me. My sisters and I get along so well. In the summers, we get together with my parents and watch sports/movies or play games every night.
Hobbies? I just finished playing volleyball at UT Tyler so that has been my life until now. Outside of volleyball, I love to cook/bake and share it with others. I also love to paint, be active and outdoors, and have movie/game nights with friends or family.
Why do you want to be a teacher? I want to be a teacher because I want to make school a fun place to be and be someone my students and coworkers can rely on. I want to be the teacher my kids remember forever just like some of my middle school teachers. There are two people that come to mind when I think about who influenced my decision to be a teacher, my mom and my 8th grade algebra teacher. Both care for their students more than anyone I know, they are dedicated to their job and they make the classroom fun, comfortable, positive, etc.
Favorite middle school memory? It is hard to think of my favorite middle school memory, but it would probably be any of the fun times I had in my algebra class or playing middle school volleyball. Algebra was just fun for me to learn; I loved my teacher and had a lot of friends in my class. And middle school athletics was just a fun place to be!
Anything else you want to add? I am so excited to work here at Three Lakes; I think it is the perfect place for me!
Merry Christmas from TLMSππ
